"I chose Macfarlanes not only because of its impressive reputation but because its recruitment strategy was so different to that of other firms. The talk given by Robert Sutton was incredibly informative but also unique, as he concentrated on life as a city lawyer in general and the skills necessary to be successful in that field. For me this made Macfarlanes stand out very much from other firms, as the focus is on encouraging and highlighting the quality of the people, rather than the impressive statistics of the firm itself. I am exceptionally glad to be with a firm that places such a premium on people as individuals and this has been demonstrated by the constant support offered during the vac scheme and on the LPC. "
