Advising Arora International Hotels on the acquisition of a significant part of the airport property portfolio of BAA Airports Limited and Morley.

Advised E&J Gallo on the termination of their warehousing and distribution contract and the transition to a new outsourced provider in the UK.

Groupe Norbert Dentressangle

Advising Groupe Norbert Dentressangle on its £255m acquisition of the European transport and logistics solutions provider Christian Salvesen.

 

International Airline


Advising an international airline on significant arbitration with a competitor airline in Mumbai.

International transport operator

Advising a major international transport operator on all aspects of its ultimately unsuccessful attempt to acquire Arriva plc, one of the UK's leading train and bus operators (which was eventually sold to Deutsche Bahn).

 

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company

Advising the main provider of passenger and freight services to and from the Isle of Man in connection with an investigation by the Manx Office of Fair Trading into the company's pricing practices, which was closed in August 2011 without any action being taken against our client.

Advising the trainline on the acquisition of its major competitor – Q-Jump – from National Express. Our strategy ensured a swift, successful and cost-effective outcome for our client. We have also advised the company on on-going regulatory matters.

 

United Airlines


Advising on various regulatory issues in connection with the merger of United Airlines and Continental Airlines.

Universal Music


Advised separately on the sale and leaseback of existing warehouse facilities, and the introduction of new facilities to introduce a third party providers of warehousing, picking and distribution services for physical media (CDs and DVDs) in the UK and Europe.

 

Virgin Atlantic


Advising Virgin on the sale of a 49 per cent stake in Virgin Atlantic to Singapore Airlines, including advising on regulatory issues.

Wightlink


Advising Wightlink in relation to a market investigation into the cross-Solent ferry market. Despite Wightlink having a market share of over 70 per cent we successfully persuaded the OFT not to refer the market to the Competition Commission for a more detailed investigation.
