Why Macfarlanes?
Prior to joining, I worked as a recruitment consultant for eight years and one of the firms I most enjoyed recruiting for was Macfarlanes. When I decided to find a new job I wanted to work for an organisation that I could see a future in and one that I would be proud to be a part of, and Macfarlanes was that firm for me.
What are your main responsibilities? Describe a typical day.
I am responsible for recruiting all lateral non-partner fee earners across the firm. This includes solicitors, senior solicitors, senior counsel, professional support lawyers and paralegals. I work closely with the partners, build strong relationships with recruitment agencies and do all I can to ensure that every applicant has a positive experience with Macfarlanes. I also handle additional HR matters and project-related work.
How has your experience been so far?
From the moment I joined Macfarlanes, I have been impressed with how committed everybody is to doing a very good job. The team are friendly, helpful and do what they can to make your job easier. The partners are approachable and take the time to explain their requirements so that I can do all I can to support them. Communication is great and you really feel a part of the firm's success.
