The regulatory agenda 2010/2011: a "need to know" guide eBulletin
In the wake of the global banking crisis, the relentless rate of regulatory change shows no sign of abating. The once heralded 'light touch' regulatory regime has been firmly consigned to history. Today, rarely a day passes without fresh regulatory pronouncements, as the regulatory morass becomes ever more convoluted and unwieldy.
Faced with such an indigestible diet of consultations, guidance and new regulation, the real challenge for authorised firms is in determining which developments are likely to have foreseeable practical ramifications. This article aims to assist firms in that exercise by highlighting some of the key items on the regulatory agenda for 2010/2011.
