Welcome to the first edition of our Charity and Philanthropy Update. In it we report on some recent developments in the charities and philanthropy field including the most significant tax reliefs relating to charities that have been introduced since Gift Aid first came on the scene. The reliefs will be of interest to both donors and recipient charities. We also comment on the recent decision on the public benefit test which will come under further scrutiny later this year. Our final article considers a newly introduced right which offers a valuable opportunity for charities who may benefit from donations of artist's resale rights.
