Environment
Environmental issues are universally recognised as a fundamental challenge in today’s world.
Our most significant impact on the environment is through our use of energy and other resources and we are conscious of the firm's environmental impact through its operations.
In particular we have:
- reduced paper usage throughout the firm by double-sided printing;
- improved energy efficiency in our office buildings through the use of energy management and smart electronic controls;
- improved recycling facilities so that waste can be separated at point of use rather than further down the chain;
- reduced our carbon footprint by purchasing a bottling plant meaning water can be bottled on site and sourcing, where possible, goods from local suppliers and where applicable from sustainable stocks;
- introduced a 'bike to work' scheme;
- entered into a long term contract for renewable energy in three of our buildings; and
- obtained a very good BREEAM status on our building at 20 Cursitor Street.
