Mary joined the firm in 1986 and became a partner in 1995. She advises on a broad range of public and private M&A work, including takeover offers, schemes of arrangement, demergers, acquisitions and disposals for private and public companies and complex group reorganisations, including many cross-border transactions.

Recent highlights include advising:

• the City Index group on its share-for-share acquisition of New Jersey-based FX Solutions Holdings LLC, in a transaction involving the establishment of a new private English holding company to acquire both City Index and FX Solutions;
• IBA Health Limited on its £170m takeover of iSOFT PLC by means of a scheme of arrangement;
• City Index on its £58m takeover of IFX Group plc by means of a public offer;
• Veronis Suhler Stevenson and Centerpoint Data on Centerpoint's public offer for all of the shares in Hemscott plc not already held by Centerpoint; and
• on several major group reorganisations.
