Advising the Bank of London and the Middle East plc on the raising of a new Islamic fund, structured as a Luxembourg SICAV/SIF primarily aimed at investors in the Middle East.
CBPE
Advising CBPE (formerly Close Brothers Private Equity) on its spin-out and MBO from Close Brothers Group plc and the subsequent close of its eighth fund.
Darwin Private Equity
Advising Darwin Private Equity, a new manager formed by executives who were previously at Permira and CVC, on its first fund backed by RIT Capital Partners plc as a cornerstone investor.
ECI Partners
Advising ECI Partners, which held the final closing for its ninth fund in December 2008, raising £435m, one of the few funds to exceed its target in the difficult market conditions.
Endless LLP
Advising Endless LLP, in raising its first institutional private equity fund specialising in turnaround investments, which raised £164m.
Greenhill Capital Partners
Advising Greenhill Capital Partners Europe on its new pan European buy out fund.
Hermes
Advising Hermes on the formation of its third private equity fund and its new infrastructure fund, and on the sale of its direct private equity business to Bridgepoint, which included the restructuring of certain funds.
Lyceum Capital
Advising Lyceum Capital (previously West Private Equity) on its spin-out from West LB and raising its first fund as a fully independent private equity house, raising in excess of £250m.
Morley Fund Management
Advising Morley Fund Management, part of the Aviva group, on the establishment of its first fund of funds, with third party investment.
Parallel Private Equity
Advising Parallel Private Equity in relation to its new arrangements with a number of UK and European private equity managers, including Penta, Milestone and TCR.
Partners Group
Advising Partners Group on the closing of a number of fund of funds, and several investments made by fund of funds.
Realstar
Advising Realstar, a Canadian firm which has recently established itself in the UK, on its first European real estate fund.
Spirit Capital Partners
Advising Spirit Capital Partners on its spin-out from Aberdeen Asset Management in and the subsequent raising and first closing of its new fund.
