Macfarlanes advises Jupiter Asset Management on acquisition of the team and institutional assets of Origin Asset Management

Macfarlanes has advised Jupiter Asset Management (Jupiter) on their acquisition of both the investment team and £800m of mostly institutional assets of London-based global investment boutique Origin Asset Management (Origin).
The purchase, which is subject to customary conditions, will provide additional scale to the firm's emerging markets arm and comes as part of a wider review of Jupiter's EM franchise.
Origin, which comprises five investment professionals, will also provide Jupiter with access to an international ex-UK portfolio and a global smaller companies fund.
The Macfarlanes team was led by corporate and M&A partner Richard Burrows, with assistance from associate Will Davison. Employment advice was provided by partner Hayley Robinson and associate Daniel Esam. Tax advice was provided by partner Joe Robinson and associate Jack Slater.
