Paralegal apprenticeships

During a two-year apprenticeship you will gain practical legal experience.

You will quickly learn how to work on live legal matters in a highly supportive team environment whilst working towards at least a level 3 professional qualification with the University of Law and Damar Training. You'll combine on-the-job training with blended learning involving online study and face to face group tutorials in the workplace.

What to expect

Depending on the department, general duties will include:

  • Liaising with clients
  • Conducting legal and business research
  • Preparing bundles of documentation
  • Assisting partners and assistants with various tasks
  • Drafting legal documents
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and policies
  • Undertaking administrative duties on files
  • Undertaking additional ad hoc duties to support the wider team
  • Working collaboratively with the other parts of the business

Our paralegal apprentices are required to dedicate 20 per cent of their weekly contracted hours towards their studies and the educational side of the apprenticeship. This will be done via a blend of interactive webinars, directed self-study and face-to-face sessions.

Who should apply?

The qualities we look for in our apprentices include excellent organisational, time management and problem solving skills. You must have strong attention to detail as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will be personable and have a genuine interest in the commercial world and developing your commercial awareness. Above all you should enjoy working in a team and be ambitious, with a genuine commitment to building and developing your professional and legal skills.

To apply for a paralegal apprenticeship you will need to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Mathematics and English or equivalent and 3 A-levels or equivalent at grade B.

If you do not meet the minimum academic requirements but there are mitigating circumstances which explain this, please include this in your application.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a telephone interview. Candidates who are successful at the telephone interview stage will then be invited to attend an assessment day. You will need to be available for an assessment day in London on 30 May 2018.
