The people behind our social events
From the moment you accept your place at the firm you will be invited to our social events.
If you are a trainee, this will be by our trainee solicitor social committee, QUACC (the Quasi Articled Clerk Committee). One person from each intake is voted onto the committee to help plan events throughout your training programme. Some of the events that this group has previously organised include a summer party roller disco and a festive gathering.
You will have plenty of opportunities to get to know colleagues both in your team and around the firm. There are numerous firm-wide events throughout the year, including summer party and celebrations to mark a variety of cultural and religious events throughout the year including but not limited to; Christmas, Deepavali/Diwali, Eid al-Fitr, Purim and Thanksgiving. If you want to join our charity committee, the theatre group, one of the sport groups (which span everything from hockey and netball to table tennis and cycling) or you just want to take part in the ad-hoc charity events (like volunteering at a food bank or a charity bake-off), there are lots of great ways to get to know your colleagues across Macfarlanes.
As well as the many social events, as a future trainee, you will be invited to practice area seminars delivered by the firm. Not only does this give you a great insight into the mechanics of each group, but it also allows you to get to know your intake so that when you join the firm, in either September or March, you will already have some great friends.
