Macfarlanes advises Legal & General on sale of Central Saint Giles to Google for $1bn

Macfarlanes has advised long-standing client Legal & General on the sale of office building Central Saint Giles, London to multinational technology company Google for $1bn.

Central Saint Giles includes 408,000 sq ft of office space and more than 100 residential apartments with restaurants and cafes on the ground floor.

The Macfarlanes team was led by the private equity real estate team including senior counsel Andrew Hughes, senior consultant Robert Porter, senior solicitor Nicole Mitchell and solicitor Emily Chandler. Real estate advice was provided by partner Anthony Burnett-Scott, tax expertise came from senior counsel Kirsten Prichard Jones and financial services advice was provided by senior solicitor Joy Davey.
