Joy Davey Senior Associate
Joy specialises in regulated financial services outsourcings, complex commercial contracts and other areas of financial services regulation. She advises asset managers, banks, insurers and intermediaries on all aspects of financial services regulation.
Her work consists of three main strands:
- transactional – helping clients outsource or divest parts of their regulated business, or acquire new regulated businesses;
- commercial – helping clients negotiate, review and update agreements with their clients and service providers, and find practical solutions to their day-to-day legal and regulatory issues; and
- advisory – helping clients understand and comply with their obligations under UK and European financial services law and regulations.
Joy has particular experience in advising on outsourcing transactions which necessitate a deep understanding of the regulatory framework applicable to the client as well as the commercial and operational context. She has particular experience in advising on UK and EU regulatory and compliance matters relevant to outsourcings, including MiFID, AIFMD, the UCITS regime, Solvency II and the EBA guidelines.
Joy aims to achieve the best results for clients through a combination of commercial and regulatory experience. This enables her to give practical advice based on a deep understanding of the commercial, operational and regulatory backdrop.
