Nicole Mitchell Head of Real Estate Strategy and Policy

As head of strategy and policy for real estate, Nicole assists Macfarlanes in strategy setting, horizon scanning, thought leadership and industry body engagement in the real assets sector, with a particular focus on the intersection of real assets and ESG.
Prior to joining Macfarlanes, Nicole specialised in the structuring, establishment and operation of unregulated real assets funds and joint ventures and advising institutional clients on their investments into real assets fund products. She spent a decade working in house in both legal and product development roles for real assets investment managers including PGIM Real Estate, Schroders Real Estate Investment Management, where she was Head of Legal, Nuveen Real Estate, where she co-led the European Product and Solutions Team and Aviva Investors, where she was responsible for real assets product development projects.
Alongside our private equity real estate team, Nicole has produced an operational real estate report, considering the scale of the market opportunity in the UK, how operational real estate can be accessed and some of the key structuring and governance considerations. This is a significant structural trend impacting virtually every real estate sector and this report is the first of its kind. You can register for a copy of the report here.
Prior to moving in house, Nicole trained and qualified as an Associate with the real estate funds team at Allen & Overy LLP.
