Anne Todd Senior solicitor
Anne is a former General Counsel and for over 25 years was a leading in-house lawyer in FTSE 100 and private equity businesses. She represents both customer and supply-side clients in a broad range of sectors including financial services, telecommunications, information technology, data centres, hospitality and outsourcing.
Anne advises on all day-to-day legal requirements of commercial businesses as well as more complex commercial transactions including in relation to IT and outsourcing, procurement, software licensing, distribution, franchising, joint ventures and exploitation of intellectual property assets. She is also experienced in consumer protection, data protection and cyber-related issues.
Over the course of her career Anne has advised on a wide range of major projects including the establishment of an insurance business across Scandinavia, the creation and launch of a major telecoms business in France, the launch of some of the first public mobile telecoms and internet services in the UK, the development of smart phone technology and the creation of a European telecoms infrastructure and services company.
In addition to Anne’s stand-alone commercial practice, she also advises on the commercial aspects of M&A and investment transactions.
Anne has an LLM in Computer and Communications Law and is a member of the Legal & Policy Committee of OpenUK.
Anne sits on the steering group of our EnABLE staff network, a forum that focuses on the mental health and wellbeing of all of those at Macfarlanes and also offers support to staff who have direct experience of or support others with disabilities, neurodiverse conditions and other long and short term conditions.
