Macfarlanes advises ARA Europe on its latest commercial real estate debt fund

Macfarlanes advised the commercial real estate business of investment management firm ARA Europe on its latest dedicated commercial real estate debt fund, Venn European Credit Real Estate Fund II, which closed at €360 million.

VeCREF II seeks to target mainly whole loans secured by commercial real estate assets with strong fundamentals in France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom. Capital commitments were received from a variety of institutional clients including insurance companies and pension funds, sourced from Europe, North America and Asia.

The Macfarlanes team was led by investment management partner, Harriet Miller and senior advisor, Alex Amos, with support from senior associate, Sweta Tandle. Tax advice was provided by partner Ceinwen Rees.
