We have a number of paralegals on permanent, fixed-term and temporary contracts in various practice areas across the firm.

Our paralegals provide valuable support to our partners, solicitors and knowledge lawyers. They play an integrated role in our practice groups, carrying out a wide range of responsibilities often with direct partner contact.

Some of our paralegals begin this role with the hope of gaining relevant experience prior to applying for a training contract. If a paralegal wishes to apply for a training contract within the firm, they must have been with Macfarlanes for at least six months and have the backing of two partners.

Alexandra Gaynor

Finance paralegal and future trainee solicitor

"I started out as an admin assistant, but my role has since developed and now, as a paralegal, I am given some fee-earning work similar to a trainee. Our client matters usually have a trainee or a paralegal working on them as part of the team."
