The European Union Regulation on Transparency of Securities Financing Transactions (the Regulation) comes into force today.
The Regulation will apply to all securities financing transactions (which includes stock loans and repo), and for some aspects applies to total return swaps. This briefing note provides an overview of the Regulation and its practical implications for entities that enter into securities financing transactions.
