Macfarlanes advises on sale of Eaton Gate to DOXA
1 minute read
Macfarlanes has advised the sellers of Eaton Gate, the largest independent commercial MGU platform in the UK, on the company’s sale to award-winning specialty insurance company, DOXA.
Eaton Gate specialises in the underwriting and claims management of UK SME commercial and HNW household insurance policies. Founded in 2016, the company underwrites with fully delegated authority from its panel of A-rated global insurers, writing policies across a range of products sourced from a diverse panel of global and regional insurance brokers. DOXA brings deep sector expertise, established access to U.S. specialty markets, and a strong track record of scaling platforms through both buy‑and‑build strategies and focused organic initiatives.
With DOXA’s backing, Eaton Gate intends to build a fully integrated, scaled MGU platform to accelerate its next phase of growth across the UK and eventually Europe. DOXA will also support Eaton Gate’s inorganic expansion through M&A and team‑build initiatives, reflecting DOXA’s established buy‑and‑build strategy.
The Macfarlanes team was led by M&A Partner Justin Hope with support from Associates Katya Pugh, Harris Grigoriou and Will Willoughby. Partner Joe Robinson advised on tax aspects with Associate Martha Barnes.
