Macfarlanes advises L&G on £43m acquisition of purpose built student accommodation Stanley Studios

Macfarlanes has advised L&G’s Student Living Ltd fund on its acquisition of high quality purpose built student accommodation asset Stanley Studios in Southampton for £43m from Brookfield Asset Management. 

Stanley Studios is a high quality asset comprising 245 rooms, including 177 studio apartments and 68 two bed apartments, with an extensive range of amenities including a private lounge, study room, library, dining room, cinema, gym and games room. 

Andrew Hughes, Private Capital Real Estate Partner, said: “Stanley Studios is an exceptional asset in a prime university city, and this transaction underscores the sustained institutional appetite for premium student housing, particularly in locations with limited development pipelines. It was a pleasure to work with the L&G team on bringing this deal to completion.”
