Macfarlanes advises Palladio Partners on €450m single asset continuation vehicle
1 minute read
Macfarlanes has advised Palladio Partners on the transfer of a 23% interest in Railpool, one of Europe's leading rail vehicle leasing companies, to a continuation fund managed by Palladio.
The continuation vehicle for Palladio's minority stake, previously held equally by two funds managed by Palladio, delivers fresh capital to accelerate Railpool's growth, as well as offering optional liquidity to Palladio's existing Limited Partners. The transaction was backed by large specialist secondary investors and international institutional investors.
Palladio Partners is an owner-managed specialist in infrastructure investments, private equity and private debt. Today it has assets of approximately €11bn under management, including investment advisory mandates. Its direct infrastructure investment team has built a strong track record through more than a decade of successful investing in the DACH region.
Since Palladio invested in Railpool in 2017, the vehicle leasing platform has almost tripled its fleet and significantly expanded its workshop network across Europe to support operations.
Macfarlanes acted for Palladio alongside POELLATH, the independent German law firm.
The Macfarlanes team was led by M&A Partner Greg James with support from Senior Associate Ollie Morris and Associate Harris Grigoriou.
