Andrew is a Partner in our Private Capital Real Estate group, specialising in direct and indirect investment into real assets.

His clients include major institutional investors, investment managers, private investors and major developers.

Andrew has a wealth of exerience leading on complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and direct investment and development across a wide variety of asset classes – particularly infrastructure, logistics (including data centres and storage), commercial offices, living and hotels.

Andrew has expertise in the growing operational real estate sector, and with the Real Estate team, has produced an operational real estate report, which considers the scale of the market opportunity in the UK, how operational real estate can be accessed, and some of the key structuring and governance considerations. 

Experience

  • Advising Hayfin on the acquisition and financing of landmark London office building 70 St Mary Axe Nuveen Real Estate.
  • Advising L&G on its merger between the Federated Hermes Property Unit Trust (FHPUT) and L&G’s Managed Property Fund (MPF), creating a combined fund value of £4.7bn.
  • Advising Dromeus Capital Group, a Greek alternative investment manager, on its joint venture with Apto Partners, a US based data center developer (launched by Pimpco) in connection with the development of a hyperscale data centre in Athens.
  • Advising Hayfin on its acquisition of Gropius Passagen, a landmark retail asset in Berlin.
  • Advising Hillwood on: i) its significant disposal of a US and pan-European industrial and logistics portfolio, including German assets, to CBRE Investment Management for circa $4.5bn; and ii) a broad range of acquisitions, disposals (single asset and portfolio disposals) and development related projects for its UK managed funds.
