Clare Wilson

Senior Knowledge Lawyer

About

Clare leads the Private Client Knowledge team and is responsible for the department’s knowledge management function.

Having trained at Macfarlanes, Clare spent eight years advising individuals and their families on succession, tax and estate planning issues, often with a cross-border element, before becoming a Senior Knowledge Lawyer in 2017.

Clare ensures that the Private Client team, our clients and wider contacts are kept abreast of legal and other relevant developments. She is responsible for a programme of updates delivered through internal seminars and bespoke training, and the production of articles and briefing notes, providing clear, practical insight on changes affecting private clients in the UK and internationally.

She provides internal counsel support to fee earners at all levels, answering technical questions and helping to translate emerging law and guidance into pragmatic advice for ongoing matters.

Clare also reviews proposals for law reform, coordinating input from the department and wider firm, and preparing consultation responses. She ensures that any changes resulting from reforms are also embedded into our training, as well as our internal know‑how systems and precedents.
