Emma advises on a broad range of tax, trust and estate planning issues for individuals, trustees and family offices.

In addition to UK-based clients, much of Emma’s work has an international element including advising non-UK trustees (with or without UK resident beneficiaries) on tax and fiduciary matters and advising individuals coming to the UK on their pre-arrival planning.

Emma has experience in US/UK situations and spent six months with the trusts and estates group of a leading Los Angeles law firm.

Experience

  • Advising on an application under the WDF (an HMRC voluntary disclosure scheme in respect of unpaid tax relating to offshore matters) including successfully engaging with HMRC on the application of the penalties regime.
  • Advising on the variation of multiple trusts including applications to court to vary the beneficiaries and administrative provisions.
  • Advising on the use of partnerships and family investment companies as estate planning vehicles.
