Foad advises on antitrust and investment regulation, including merger control, FDI reviews, and the EU’s foreign subsidies regime.

Based in Brussels, Foad has more than 15 years’ experience guiding industrial clients and financial sponsors through complex cross-border transactions, successfully navigating Phase II and remedy cases in both merger and FDI reviews across Europe, including before the European Commission and the UK’s CMA.

In addition to transactional matters, Foad advises on cartels and other market-related investigations, drawing on his experience pleading before the EU courts in Luxembourg and negotiating favourable outcomes with key enforcers.

Foad has particular expertise in basic industries, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, private capital and financial services, B2B platforms, and the transport sector.

He holds LLMs from Stockholm University and the College of Europe in Bruges. Foad is a member of the Swedish Bar and is registered on the Brussels E-list. Before joining the Brussels Bar, Foad clerked for six years at the Court of Justice of the European Union for Judge Nils Wahl.
