Freddy advises clients on a wide range of UK and cross-border tax matters, with a particular focus on investment management and corporate group clients.

Freddy advises private capital clients on a wide range of issues, including the establishment and structuring of investment funds, and the designing of investment manager house structures. Freddy also advises investors investing in funds, both as primary and secondary investors. 

More broadly, Freddy advises clients (including individuals and corporate groups) on a wide range of UK tax issues. Freddy has advised individuals on the impact of changes to the UK's carried interest and non-dom rules, as well as corporate groups on restructuring in relation to these issues. Freddy also advises clients on interactions with HMRC, including in an enquiry context. 

Alongside his client work, Freddy is an enthusiastic mentor of junior colleagues and students, taking part in a wide range of the firm's outreach and development programmes.

Experience

  • Advising Stonehage Fleming, one of the world's leading independently owned multi-family offices, on its combination with US-based wealth advisor Corient.
  • Advising a number of private clients of the firm in respect of the impact of changes to the UK carried interest and non-dom rules.
  • Advising Hayfin (alongside local counsel) on the structuring of the acquisition of the Gropius Passagen shopping centre in Berlin.
