Jackelyn West

Senior Associate

About

Jackelyn advises on a broad range of complex contentious tax issues for high-net-worth individuals, family office, partnerships and FTSE listed companies. She has significant experience in litigation from the First-tier Tax Tribunal to the Supreme Court, and her work has included traditional tax appeals, judicial reviews and ADR, as well as commercial disputes involving tax issues and professional negligence claims.

Jackelyn has gained her tax litigation experience in both government and private practice dispute resolution teams, and is able to draw on her previous experience as a litigation associate in HMRC’s Solicitor’s Office to advise her clients on effective and strategic communication with HMRC.

Jackelyn is adept at advising clients on HMRC enquiries and investigations prior to their dispute reaching the formal appeal stage, navigating HMRC’s powers and processes with pragmatic solutions for clients, and seeking to reach resolutions outside of the Courts through engagement with HMRC and settlement discussions.
