Louisa specialises in all aspects of non-contentious construction law, with extensive experience acting for developers and institutional investors on major office, mixed-use, residential, hotel and logistics projects.
She acts for a range of developers, funders, owner occupiers, tenants and private clients in relation to all aspects of construction procurement, including drafting, negotiating and advising on building contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, third party rights, guarantees and bonds.
Louisa also advises on construction aspects of development and funding agreements, facility agreements, agreements for lease and sale and purchase agreements. She is experienced in carrying out due diligence exercises in respect of the construction elements of real estate, corporate and banking transactions.
Louisa is a member of the Society of Construction Law and sits on the City of London Law Society’s Construction Law Associates Committee.
Experience
- Advising Legal & General’s build-to-rent fund on the acquisition and development of various sites, including the delivery of over 1,000 homes across 18 tower blocks, with 50,000 sq ft of commercial space at its flagship scheme in Wandsworth, London.
- Advising Stanhope on landmark office developments in the City, including 8 Bishopsgate, a 50-storey tower with 560,000 sq ft of office space, and Woolgate Exchange, delivering 345,000 sq ft of sustainable office space.
- Advising on the redevelopment and letting of a 260,000 sq ft landmark office building across ten floors in the heart of Covent Garden, London.
- Advising Legal & General on the acquisition and forward funding of a 51-storey build-to-rent development in Manchester, as part of the partnership between Nest, Legal & General and PGGM.
- Advising on the redevelopment of a Grade II listed mansion block in Belgravia to build 42 high end residences, extensive residential amenities and ground floor retail premises.
- Advising Realstar on the forward funding, debt financing and fit out works at various build-to-rent projects across Wembley, Acton, Deptford and Leeds.
- Advising Stanhope and Mitsui joint ventures on the mixed-use redevelopment of the BBC Media Village, Television Centre and on the extension of the British Library.
- Advising on the redevelopment of the former Goldman Sachs London headquarters at Peterborough Court on Fleet Street, encompassing over 450,000 sq ft of mixed-use space.
- Advising Legal & General on the developments of Sky Studios at Elstree and the extension of the Begbroke Science Park in Oxford.
- Advising on the provision of a £265m debt facility for Legal & General’s build-to-rent fund with a lender club including Lloyds, Natwest and ING.
- Advising on construction contracts and funding arrangements for large scale high end residential developments in Kensington, Regent’s Park and Belgravia.
