Maria is an Associate in the real estate group and has experience working on a broad range of commercial real estate matters and asset classes.
Maria has a broad range of real estate experience which includes the acquisitions and disposals of commercial property, corporate real estate acquisitions and disposals, complex pre-lets, acting for landowners and developers in relation to commercial and residential development projects and advising on landlord and tenant negotiations across different asset classes such as offices, retail, industrial and logistics, data centres and BTR.
Alongside her client work, Maria sits on the steering group of our DAWN staff network, a forum that focuses on the mental health and wellbeing of all of those at Macfarlanes and offers support to staff who have direct experience of or support others with disabilities, neurodiverse conditions and other long and short term conditions. Maria is also a member of the Academy of Real Asset's Youth Network.
Experience
- Advising L&G on its merger between the Federated Hermes Property Unit Trust and L&G’s Managed Property Fund, creating a combined fund value of £4.7bn.
- Advising L&G on the sale of an operational build-to-rent asset, The Slate Yard, to KKR for over £100m.
- Advising Stanhope Plc and its Canadian funding partner Cadillac Fairview on the acquisition of 70 Gracechurch Street in the City of London for c. £300m.
- Advising a joint venture on a pre-let to L'Oreal at the Gateway site in White City, London.
