Maudie joined Macfarlanes in 2017 after seven years in private practice advising on a wide range of corporate tax matters at a major City firm, with a particular focus on investment management tax, and private equity and M&A tax.
Maudie is a senior knowledge lawyer in the Tax & Reward team and is responsible for supporting every aspect of the group’s practice.
Maudie keeps the team informed of the latest tax developments relevant to our clients and practice, and works closely with the Tax Policy team to ensure the group is kept up-to-date on proposals for law reform and HMRC consultations, as well as industry and sector developments.
She is involved in facilitating and coordinating thought leadership across the practice, and responds to technical queries from the team and those in the wider firm.
Maudie is responsible for developing and implementing the education and training programme at all levels across the Tax & Reward group, including an annual technical conference and a bespoke tax training programme for junior lawyers in the team. She also looks after the trainees in the group.
Maudie works closely with the firm's Lawtech practice to drive opportunities for innovation and technology within the Tax & Reward team.
