Paul heads the HR Business partner, Recruitment and Early Careers teams at Macfarlanes, helping to attract and retain talented people who can deliver for the firm's clients.
Since joining in 2019, Paul has led the team of HR business partners who work with Partners and Managers to improve productivity, teamwork and communications within their departments.
Paul has led on a number of projects to drive high performance, employee engagement and ensure people are fairly rewarded for their contribution. His key areas of focus have been organisational design, employee relations and talent management.
Paul has over 20 years’ experience working in human resources, predominantly in the legal industry. He has previously worked for Magic Circle and large international firms. This has given him the experience to recognise there is no one-size-fits-all approach to good HR, and the importance of creating a positive culture in the workplace.
He is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and has mentored people both internally and externally, through programmes such as the 30% Club.
