About

Rachael is a senior associate in the firm’s financial services regulation team. Rachael provides advice and support on a broad range of legal, regulatory and commercial matters relating to the retail financial services market.

Rachael acts for a diversity of clients ranging from institutional banks, asset managers, intermediaries, retail lenders, private equity houses and hedge funds, to new entrants to the market, individuals and companies for whom financial services are not their core business.

Rachael has a broad regulatory practice. Her experience includes advising domestic and overseas clients on matters relating to the UK regulatory perimeter, regulatory change, FCA authorisation, corporate governance and systems and controls, consumer credit, retail banking and financial crime prevention. She also regularly supports on market-leading corporate transactions involving the acquisition, disposal and reorganisation of authorised firms. Rachael also has a particular interest in policy developments in the retail, wealth and personal finance space.

Rachael has strong client-side experience having completed a year-long secondment in the consumer products division of a global insurer. During this time Rachael helped launch a significant global travel insurance partnership with a leading online travel services provider in several European jurisdictions.

  • Advising Cedar Capital Partners on recapitalisation of European Lifestyle Hotel Portfolio with Ares Management.
  • Advising Joshua Alliance and his bid vehicle Falcon 24 Topco Limited on the proposed £408m take-private of N Brown Group plc.
  • Advising Union Bancaire Privée, a Swiss bank specialising in wealth and asset management, on the English law aspects of its acquisition of Societe Generale’s UK private banking and wealth management arm.
  • Advising Partners Capital Investment Group, a global outsourced investment office, on a minority investment from General Atlantic, a leading global growth equity investor.
  • Advising Ancala, the leading independent infrastructure manager, on the sale of a minority stake to Vontobel, a listed global investment manager, to accelerate its growth plans.
  • Advising Wendel Group on its acquisition of a controlling interest in IK Partners.
