Rebecca is a technical expert, providing counsel on complex real estate transactions and advising on both legal developments and policy shifts that impact the property sector.

Rebecca is focused on helping the firm and its clients anticipate change, assess risk and shape their strategic direction in the real estate market. As part of the firm’s Public Policy group, she tracks market developments, engages with industry bodies, and contributes to law reform proposals through responses to consultations and participation in industry working groups.

Rebecca also leads the knowledge management function within the Real Estate group, delivering training, drafting precedents, providing counsel and sharing insights to keep colleagues and clients up to speed with developments in law.

She brings considerable commercial insight to her work, along with technical legal expertise. Before joining Macfarlanes in 2020, Rebecca spent over eight years in private practice advising institutional property funds, developers, investment firms and global brands. Her background includes high-profile development projects, real estate financing and asset management deals.

Rebecca is recognised for her sharp focus on legal detail, her ability to distil complex ideas quickly, and her collaborative style. She is a member of the firm’s ESG working group.
