Sam works on a range of UK and cross-border tax and structuring matters, focusing on the private capital industry and corporate group advice.

Sam advises private capital fund managers on tax aspects across the fund life cycle, from fund formation and capital raising to deployment and exit. He represents LPs on primary, secondary and co-investment opportunities.

Sam has worked across transactions, corporate tax planning and operational matters, in both a law firm environment and at a Big Four professional services firm. He has experience in corporation, partnership and individual tax reporting for private capital and hedge funds and their stakeholders.

Sam is a Chartered Tax Adviser and a Chartered Accountant. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Experience

  • Advising Aberdeen on the successful fundraising of Aberdeen Standard Core Infrastructure III, Aberdeen’s third European core infrastructure fund, which has closed with total commitments in excess of €500m.
  • Advising CBPE on its oversubscribed “one and done” fund, CBPE Fund XI, which closed at £714m.
