Sarah-Louise is a senior associate who advises domestic and international clients (including multinational corporations, trust companies and high-net-worth individuals) on High Court, Employment Tribunal, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court cases, mediations and offshore litigation.

Sarah-Louise has a particular focus on contentious probate, succession and trusts disputes (regularly advising both trustees and beneficiaries) as well as employment and commercial disputes.

As part of her contentious trusts practice, Sarah-Louise has advised beneficiaries in relation to two of the leading Public Trustee v Cooper blessing applications in Bermuda.

Sarah-Louise also has experience with group litigation.

Sarah-Louise spent time on secondment at an international asset management business working closely with the general counsel on a variety of legal issues across different jurisdictions.

Sarah-Louise is a member of the Contentious Trusts Association, The Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists and Junior London Solicitor Litigation Association.

Experience

  • Advising a high-net worth beneficiary in relation to a series of Public Trustee v Cooper blessing applications in Bermuda.
  • Advising a high-net-worth beneficiary of a will in relation to a dispute as to the validity of the will and working to achieve a successful settlement of the dispute through without-prejudice negotiations with multi-jurisdictional parties.
  • Advising a FTSE 100 company in relation to a group litigation order involving c.300 claimants with respect to the VAT treatment of certain supplies and their compliance with EU law.
  • Advising the executors of a high-net worth individual’s estate on settling a dispute about the proper construction of the deceased’s will, including considering the merits of a rectification application and a potential professional negligence claim against the deceased’s former lawyers.
  • Advising an offshore trustee in relation to the day-to-day administration of its trusts in the context of a regulatory investigation.
  • Advising a high-net-worth client in relation to a litigation funding opportunity.
