About

Sindhuja advises on a wide variety of complex commercial real estate matters, principally helping clients deliver on developments and investments in the living and life sciences sectors.

Sindhuja regularly negotiates development funding agreements and pre-let agreements for lease for high-value commercial and residential developments. She acts for both sellers and buyers on investment purchases and sales, as well as for borrowers and lenders in real estate finance transactions. She is also very active in the operational real estate space, negotiating development, asset and property management agreements for assets in a variety of sectors.

Sindhuja’s clients include institutional investors, private equity real estate firms, private investors and major developers, for whom she advises on complex private capital real estate transactions (including on investments and disposals of assets either directly or through corporate vehicles).

Sindhuja spent six months on secondment at a leading UK financial services provider, working primarily on a US-focused joint venture investing in the acquisition and development of property serving the science and technology sectors.

Alongside her client work, she is a member of the firm’s REACH Committee (focusing on diversity and inclusion) and is also part of the Real Estate team’s internal ESG working group.

Experience

  • Advising Legal & General on its acquisition of a BTR site and forward funding of a 51-storey building in Manchester’s Deansgate neighbourhood in its joint venture with Nest and PGGM.
  • Advising Stanhope on its joint venture with Cadillac Fairview (the real estate arm of OTPP) and Thomas White Oxford on the acquisition and development of a £700m new global innovation district, Oxford North.
  • Advising Kennedy Wilson on the acquisition of the Heathrow Estate, a 300,000 square foot industrial property in West London.
  • Advising Legal & General on various corporate and development transactions for its new purpose-built student accommodation platform, including a £160m forward funding of a PBSA development in Manchester.
  • Advising Dandara Living on the sale (and forward funding) of a £110m build-to-rent scheme in Renshaw’s Yard, Staines to Greystar Real Estate Partners.
  • Advising Legal & General on the funding and delivery of a £200m "Life and Mind Building" for the University of Oxford and the funding and development of a major science and innovation district at the University of Oxford’s Begbroke Science Park (both as part of L&G’s £4bn partnership with the University of Oxford).
  • Advising Stanhope plc on numerous lettings at BBC Media Village.
  • Advising Legal & General on the £230m development and funding of a 32 acre major new studio space in Elstree for Sky Studios.
  • Advising Ministry of Sound Group (The Ministry) on an agreement with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (Westfield), owner of Westfield shopping centre, to open The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush, a new concept combining workspace, a multi-studio fitness centre and a rooftop bar and restaurant, in the space previously occupied by the House of Fraser store.
