Steven leads the valuation and financial modelling practice, which includes five specialists that provide valuation and modelling advice on transactions, tax, accounting and fund governance matters.
With over 12 years of experience at an international consulting and a Big Four accounting firm, Steven has carried out valuations for clients in various industries and geographies.
Steven advises clients on tax valuations including management incentive plans, carried interest, growth shares, earn-outs, legal entities and intangible assets.
He also advises clients on accounting valuations in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and UK GAAP (FRS 102), including: purchase price allocations (IFRS 3); share-based payments (IFRS 2); impairment testing (IAS 36); intangible assets including customer relationships and intellectual property (IAS 38); and complex securities (IFRS 9).
Steven advises alternative investment funds on valuation policy, validation of net asset value in accordance with International Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuation (IPEV) guidelines, review of third-party valuations, and the valuation of portfolio companies or positions for distressed debt, special situations and private equity funds.
Steven works closely with the other specialist teams and legal advisers.
