About

Will leads the firm’s Commercial practice. His experience encompasses commercial contracts, outsourcing, intellectual property and wider commercial matters.

Will has a broad commercial law practice which involves advising on and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and arrangements, with a particular focus on deals in the financial services, media and technology and hospitality sectors. His clients include corporates, investors and entrepreneurs, with his ability to advise across a range of industries regularly highlighted in the leading legal directories.

Will also specialises in advising clients on the exploitation and commercialisation of their intellectual property assets, in particular in relation to complex brand licensing, sponsorship and franchising arrangements.

In addition to Will’s stand-alone commercial contracts work, his practice also involves advising on the commercial aspects of M&A, JV and other corporate transactions, working closely with relevant groups in the firm to advise the firm’s wider corporate and private capital client base.

Will is also a country partner for Spain and Portugal, as part of which he co-ordinates the firm's relationships with law firms in those jurisdictions.

  • Advising Virgin Group on its brand licensing arrangements with a number of high-profile licensees, including Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Voyages, Virgin Media and Virgin Orbit.
  • Advising Beaverbrook on various contractual matters relating to its hotel portfolio.
  • Advising Evelyn Partners on the commercial and IP aspects of its sale to Apax of S&W, Evelyn's legacy professional services business.
  • Advising Maybourne on various F&B, concession and other key partnerships relating to Claridge’s, The Berkeley and The Connaught hotels.
  • Advising Banijay on a number of high-profile IP acquisitions, including in relation to its $2.2bn acquisition of Endemol Shine.
  • Advising Investec on a long term, critical outsourcing arrangement as part of its disposal of Investec W&I to Rathbones.
  • Advising various HNW individuals on their media, publishing, sponsorship and other high-value contractual arrangements.
