We advise on complex, high-value real estate finance transactions across the UK and Europe. Our clients include lenders and borrowers, developers and investors, corporates, funds across the spectrum of real estate asset classes, with an increasing focus on operational assets.  

We work closely with clients to structure and execute transactions spanning acquisition and development finance, senior, mezzanine and whole-loan structures and complex intercreditor arrangements, often involving back leverage. Working seamlessly with our Real Estate team, we deliver innovative solutions with commercial insight to guide transactions in this dynamic market.

Our team brings together our specialists in Finance, Real Estate, Construction and Tax to provide coordinated advice to clients on their most important transactions. This includes advising on single asset and portfolio acquisitions and large-scale development projects. We have depth of experience in advising on the financing of operational real estate assets - from hotels, private rented and student accommodation to data centres and cold-storage - reflecting the increasingly operational nature of today’s real estate market. 

We have considerable experience in restructurings and enforcements involving real estate assets, and work closely with our clients to anticipate challenges, manage risk, and unlock value across the UK and European markets.

Work highlights include advising:

  • Sadel Group on securing a £500m facility to refinance its cold storage business, Magnavale;
  • Canadian investment firm Brookfield on securing £300m in financing for the expansion of Harwell Science and Innovation Campus;
  • Hayfin on its acquisition of European CRE development and investment loan portfolio from Oaktree;
  • Pandox on the financing for its €1.4bn recommended cash offer for Dalata Hotel Group plc;
  • the club of lenders on their facilities for the refinancing of London’s Paddington Square development; and
  • Supermarket Income REIT on both secured and unsecured facilities for its UK and European portfolio.
