UK Securitisation Regulation – FCA approves first two securitisation repositories
1 minute read
With effect from 17 January 2022, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has decided to register both European DataWarehouse Ltd and SecRep Limited as securitisation repositories under the UK Securitisation Regulation.
Correspondingly, the obligation to report public securitisations within the scope of the UK Securitisation Regulation to a securitisation repository that is registered and supervised by the FCA will also apply from 17 January 2022.
As a reminder to market participants, following the end of the Brexit transition period, the regulatory technical standards and the implementing technical standards relating to securitisation transparency were retained as UK law. For further information on those standards, please read our summary.
Please speak to your usual Macfarlanes contact if you have any questions.
The FCA continues to encourage reporting entities to complete all necessary preparatory measures to comply with their reporting obligations to a SR.
