Macfarlanes advises Peter Hargreaves on £5.443bn consortium buyout of Hargreaves Lansdown

Macfarlanes is advising Peter Hargreaves, the co-founder and largest shareholder of FTSE 100 company Hargreaves Lansdown plc, in respect of the recommended takeover of Hargreaves Lansdown by the buyout consortium led by CVC, together with Nordic Capital and Platinum Ivy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, in a transaction attributing a value to Hargreaves Lansdown of £5.443bn.

The transaction is expected to complete during the first quarter of 2025, subject to the satisfaction or waiver (where applicable) of certain conditions.

The Macfarlanes team is led by Corporate and M&A partner Harry Coghill, with assistance from senior associates Emma Bailey and Andrew Wheelhouse.
