The IFPR: what is the impact for SNI firms?
1 minute read
The UK Investment Firm Prudential Regime or “IFPR” is a new streamlined and simplified regime for the prudential regulation of investment firms in the UK.
In December 2020, the FCA issued its first consultation paper (CP1) on the new UK prudential regime for MiFID investment firms - the Investment Firms Prudential Regime (IFPR). CP1's focus is on the first batch of chapters of the prudential sourcebook for MiFID investment firms known as MIFIDPRU. In this briefing, we look at MIFIDPRU's first chapter (MIFIDPRU 1) which deals with categorisation.
For more information on the IFPR see our FAQs. If you have any questions or comments on this topic, please contact Michael Sholem.
