Penny advises high-net-worth individuals, investors, developers, landlords, tenants, trusts and family offices on their residential property matters. She advises on a broad range of matters including acquisition and disposal of high-value residential property, residential leases, leasehold extension claims and licences to assign and alter, as well as general residential property advice.

Experience
- Advising a UK joint venture company on the acquisition of five prime central London buildings from a charity vendor with a full leaseback backed by £23m of senior debt and, subsequently, advising on the property side of a £78m refinancing and development facility to refinance the original debt, fund deferred consideration and finance the site’s development.
- Advising a high-net-worth couple on the acquisition and financing of an undeveloped freehold house in Kensington, with a view to full renovation and modernisation including liaison with the clients’ development team and specialist planning advisors.
- Advising a UK individual on downsizing and selling their house and buying a flat in a listed building on the Grosvenor Estate, including detailed advice on the affect of the Building Safety Act on the management of the building and the client’s service charge.
- Advising a family office on the impact of the Renters Rights Act 2025 on tenancy terms, rent reviews and termination options for a number of apartments in a house held on trust for the family.
- Advising an international couple on the purchase of a prime central London townhouse with complex M&E, integrated AV and security systems, securing exclusivity and exchanging within 48 hours in a competitive process.
- Advising a high-net-worth couple on the sale of a Kensington and Chelsea house to a UK company with an Indian ultimate beneficial owner, with simultaneous exchange and completion.
