George acts on a range of adjudication, litigation, and dispute avoidance matters, focusing on the construction and real estate sectors.
George has experience across real estate and construction disputes, including termination, delay and defective work disputes. He has acted on a number of adjudications, as well as Part 7 and Part 8 litigation proceedings and arbitrations. This includes proceedings in the Supreme Court, the Technology and Construction Court and the Commercial Court.
George’s experience also includes cases involving allegations of fraud and disputes concerning PFI contracts.
George is a member of the Society of Construction Law, the Property Litigation Association and the Adjudication Society.
George sits on Macfarlanes’ Corporate Social Responsibility committee.
Experience
- Advising Weston Homes plc in High Court proceedings involving a multi-million pound claim in respect of defective design alleged to have been carried out by a mechanical and electrical engineer in relation to a substantial housing development.
- Advised a multinational financial services and asset management company in disputes concerning defects in the renovation of a listed commercial building.
- Advising developers on claims relating to cladding fire safety defects and the impact of the Building Safety Act.
- PFI project companies in disputes concerning defects.
