Jaime advises UK and international clients on a wide range of employment law issues.

Jaime trained at Macfarlanes qualifying into the Employment team in 2011. Jaime specialises in both contentious and non-contentious employment law, advising clients in a wide range of sectors, including financial services.  

Jaime advises on senior management exits from public and private companies and limited liability partnerships, large-scale workforce restructurings, TUPE issues, grievance and disciplinary investigations and contractual issues, such as bonus schemes and restrictive covenants. Jaime regularly advises on complex Employment Tribunal disputes and settlement negotiations. Clients appreciate her pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.

Jaime's experience includes:

  • successfully defending an Employment Tribunal claim alleging multiple counts of whistleblowing and discrimination on the grounds of race, nationality and sex;
  • acting for a listed company in relation to the termination of a director and the subsequent dispute in relation to their bonus awards and long-term incentives;
  • outsourcing the fund accounting and administration work of a real estate investment manager to an external provider based outside of the UK;
  • advising on the employment aspects of a phased closure of a UK subsidiary of an international business, including the collective redundancy process and negotiated settlements;
  • assisting a client with the relocation of over 1,000 employees from multiple sites around central
    London to a single location on the outskirts of the city; and
  • advising an FCA regulated LLP on disciplinary allegations against a senior member of staff.
