Gemma has a broad regulatory practice, advising wealth and asset managers, family offices and other financial services firms on various regulatory matters.
Her work to date has had a particular focus on UK regulatory perimeter issues, the scope and application of the AIFMD/the UCITS Directive, as well as the application of UK domestic regimes such as SMCR, the UK IFPR and the client money and client asset regimes.
Gemma’s has extensive experience assisting firms in relation to FCA authorisations, variations of permission and the regulatory rules on change in control. She regularly advises on the preparation of regulatory applications and correspondence with the FCA.
Recent examples of Gemma’s work include advice on a range of perimeter and cross-border issues resulting from Brexit and advice on the regulatory aspects of a number of significant corporate transactions including the preparation of the regulatory approval and consent applications and advice regarding the application of SMCR/other governance issues.
