About

Dan acts on a broad range of complex domestic and international contentious matters, with a focus on regulatory enforcement and investigations.

Dan works for a mix of state, corporate and individual clients in a number of sectors, particularly financial services and sport. His work includes advising on high-profile regulatory investigations and complex litigation, where the client's business and reputation are often at risk. His practice includes both domestic and international enforcement matters as well as disputes arising from regulatory findings, with a particular focus on standalone and follow-on competition claims.

Dan has worked on a number of high-profile multi-party, multi-jurisdictional claims in the High Court, Competition Appeal Tribunal, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. He also has experience in arbitration proceedings.

In 2024/25, Dan was seconded to an international bank where he advised on a range of corporate, compliance and contentious regulatory matters. 

In 2022, Dan spent time on secondment in the Litigation and Investigations team at NatWest Group where he managed proceedings in the UK, Australia, Israel and the Netherlands.

Dan is a member of the Financial Services Lawyers Association and Young Fraud Lawyers Association.

  • Advising a financial institution on an FCA enforcement investigation in relation to potential systems and controls failings in the financial services sector.
  • Representing PGA European Tour in securing the dismissal of high-profile disciplinary appeals by 12 pro golfers on the grounds of restraint of trade, breach of competition law, and procedural unfairness.
  • Advising Prysmian on collective proceedings arising from the European Commission's power cables cartel decision.
  • Representing a global financial institution in defending multi-billion dollar claims in the High Court and Competition Appeal Tribunal arising out of alleged FX manipulation.
  • Acting for a highly successful Formula 1 team investigating the dissemination of trade secrets and confidential information.
  • Advising a listed company on anonymous whistleblowing allegations made against senior executives.
  • Acting for a Senior Manager in connection with an FCA enforcement investigation in relation to conflicts of interest and inside information.
