Joshua advises private capital sponsors on fund structuring, fundraising, and regulatory compliance across private credit, private equity and other alternative asset classes. He advises across the liquidity spectrum, from traditional closed-ended to evergreen, vintage, semi-liquid and open-ended and works with clients ranging from first-time managers to global institutions.
In addition to advising on fundraisings, Joshua also advises sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, and family offices on their private capital investment programmes, including primary fund allocations across private equity, credit, real estate, and infrastructure, as well as co-investments and bespoke investment strategies. He also helps clients navigate fund marketing and regulatory matters, including AIFMD.
Joshua has previously spent time on secondment at a global investment management firm specialising in public and private corporate credit.
Before joining Macfarlanes, Joshua trained in the private funds team of a leading US law firm.

- Advising UK-based Apache Capital Partners, a leading private real estate investment management firm, on a new project funding partnership to support Moda Living’s £302 (€344m) Great Charles Street scheme in Birmingham.
