Rachel Serene Senior Knowledge Lawyer

Rachel is the senior knowledge lawyer for the firm’s financial team and is responsible for the team’s knowledge management function.

After gaining over 10 years of experience advising clients across the regulatory spectrum, Rachel is now responsible for the financial services regulation team’s knowhow and training, providing technical legal support to her colleagues, managing and developing the team’s training programme and ensuring that the team is up to date with the latest regulatory developments.

She has experience advising on a broad range of regulatory matters with a focus on the conduct of business regime, systems and controls requirements and the regulatory perimeter. Her expertise and knowledge includes advising numerous clients on the impact of regulatory changes (for example, Consumer Duty, IFPR, MiFID II and the Senior Managers Regime) as well as helping them to prepare for implementation.

Rachel has completed a secondment to an investment bank where she assisted with its preparation for the Senior Manager Regime and, more recently, to a wealth management group assisting its legal team with its customer contracts and materials following the integration of a new business. She has also undertaken a year in the firm’s banking and finance team where she worked on a wide range of commercial lending transactions, including asset backed finance.

Rachel has also contributed to a number of industry working groups with a particular focus on the Financial Services Compensation Scheme levy.
