Macfarlanes announces eight new partners

We are pleased to announce that the following eight lawyers will become partners in the firm from 1 May 2023: Tania Barnes (Real Estate), Adam Caines (Finance), Rosie Duckworth (Commercial), Chloë Edworthy and Nikolas Ireland (Litigation and Dispute Resolution), Alex Jones (Private Client), Max Mittasch (Corporate and M&A) and Sarah Shucksmith (Tax and Reward).

Tania Barnes is a real estate specialist experienced in all aspects of property-driven transactions with a particular focus on complex mixed-use regeneration and deep knowledge of the living sector.

Adam Caines is a banking lawyer focusing on acquisition finance, fund finance and speciality and structured finance. Adam’s clients include credit funds and alternative asset managers.

Rosie Duckworth is a commercial lawyer, with a practice that encompasses IP, IT and data privacy matters and a particular focus on those aspects of M&A transactions.

Chloë Edworthy specialises in international arbitration and cross-border litigation for corporates, financial institutions and high-net-worth individuals.

Nikolas Ireland acts on complex commercial litigation and arbitration, specialising in international civil fraud disputes and asset recovery.

Alex Jones advises international families, trustees and family offices on a broad range of cross-border structuring, estate planning, trust law and tax issues.

Max Mittasch works on a broad range of transactions, including equity capital markets, private M&A and group reorganisations, with a particular focus on public M&A.

Sarah Shucksmith specialises in all aspects of real estate fund taxation, including fundraising (representing both funds and investors) and advising on equity investments into real estate.
